Mambo Yoyo Dance Group is SOCAN Compliant
There are basically three (3) different types
of lessons that we offer.
:: Group Lessons
Both the most common and easiest way to learn as we concentrate on Rueda
which is a social group dance. Furthmore, it will prove to be the most
entertaining way to learn due to the foolishness that seems to be inherent
in learning new Rueda calls. Combine this with a dance syllabus and
a set schedule helps to create a pleasant environment where you can
gain the most from your time. As you master all the Salsa/Rueda steps
and combinations, you have the opportunity of meeting and dancing with
new people; don't get to comfortable with that partner... after all,
this is rueda and you don't get to keep them long.
:: Private Lessons
Private Lessons are the most appropriate way of learning to dance quickly.
Since Rueda is an intermediate Salsa dancer's dance, it requires a strong
base in Salsa footwork, patterns and lead/follow technique. This method
is the quickest way to bring up your Salsa skills to comfortably learn
to dance Rueda. Most private lessons take place in a reserved ambience
where students are assured privacy to address their dance needs. This
method of teaching gives the beginning dancer an opportunity to gain
experience and advance in a short period of time. It also enables you
to receive the appropriate amount of personal attention you require
on a date and time that best suits your schedule.
:: Workshops
These are single 1, 2 or 4 hour classes that focus on a particular theme
or aspect of Salsa or Rueda. Some examples would be turning techniques,
advanced turn patterns or open shines. Each workshop showcases new information
or steps.
